Expedition associated with the project funded by the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities (PIs: Modesto Luceño and Santiago Martín-Bravo)
This trip aimed to collect specimens from Carex boryana and Carex borbonica for genomic studies.
Day 1 (March 05th 2017): Arrival to La Réunion
Day 2 (March 06th 2017): Col de Bellevue and Pas de Bellecombe
Day 3 (March 07th 2017): Le Maïdo
Day 4 (March 08th 2017): Fenêtre des Makes and back to the Cratère Commerson surroundings
Day 5 (March 09th 2017): Tough day, up to Le Piton des Neiges
Day 6 (March 10th 2017): Back to Le Maïdo to search for further intermediate specimens of C. boryana x borbonica
Day 7 (March 11th 2017): Exploring the Cirque du Salazie area (Hell-Bourg and the Riviere du Mat)
Day 8 (March 12th 2017): Exploring some more tropical habitats (eg. Bassin des Aigrettes)
Day 9 (March 13th 2017): Back to Spain
